NBC’s veteran comedy The Office appears to be making some serious moves to restructure the show. Better With You’s Jake Lacy will join the cast as a series regular this fall, according to TVLine.
He joins newcomer Clark Duke (Greek, Kick-Ass), who signed on earlier this month. There is no word on the characters each will be playing.
As previously reported, The Office is undergoing some changes in front of and behind the camera — including the departure of showrunner Paul Lieberstein (aka Toby), as well as the possible exit of Rainn Wilson (Lieberstein and Wilson are working on a “spin-off” show for the latter). Additionally, B.J. Novak (Ryan) and Mindy Kaling (Kelly) will not be returning full-time. Kaling’s highly-anticipated new series The Mindy Project has already been well-received by critics and is sure to fit in nicely behind Zooey Deschanel’s New Girl on Fox.
